GIANTS Software has everything and everyone you need to publish your next game
GIANTS Software’s Christian Ammann and Stefan Geiger do not experiment for experiment’s sake. Nor do they bow to the whims of investors or shareholders, or blindly follow trends. From its beginnings as the team behind the hit Farming Simulator franchise to its debut as a full-stack publisher in 2021, GIANTS Software’s growth has been cautious, intelligent, and mindful. And it shows.
It’s because of GIANTS’ direct development experience that it knows exactly how developers are feeling right now in today’s uncertain climate. From nurturing its own embryonic ideas – “do something with a tractor!” a friend had suggested – to building its own engine (now in its tenth iteration), GIANTS has formed its own in-house solutions to QA, marketing, community and social media, event management – pretty much every aspect of the development and post-dev journey.
The company has grown organically and thoughtfully from a small self-published studio to a publisher that blends all the expertise and skillsets of big publishers with the care and attention of boutique outfits.
“After more than a decade of developing the Farming Simulator series, we felt it was time to take the next step: gaining full control over our brand and expanding our responsibilities beyond core development,” explains CEO Christian Ammann. “Becoming a publisher allows us to steer the future of Farming Simulator independently – choosing the platforms we support, defining our product bundles, and innovating with unique accessories.”

Growing a niche product into a market leader takes time, care, and confidence
Part of its success has been GIANTS’ ability to harness the skill and expertise of its home-grown teams. Along the way, CEO Ammann and CTO Geiger have surrounded themselves with more and more passionate people, people with expertise not just in game development itself, but also in agriculture, to ensure Farming Simulator’s experiences feel authentic. Even today, both Ammann and Geiger have hands-on involvement in the day-to-day running of the company, despite expanding to employ over 100 talented experts from all over the world.
That’s why today, GIANTS Software sits as a pioneering, internationally recognized leader of simulation games with a hard-earned reputation for working collaboratively with its community. With a commitment to risk-free, sustainable growth, the team continues to maintain financial independence and constantly aims to achieve new publishing goals despite this extraordinarily challenging market.
However, reaching these milestones was not a rushed process, nor have they been taken for granted. Farming Simulator released in 2008. Farming Simulator 2011 introduced multiplayer support. Farming Simulator 2012 was the first entry for a mobile device, and a console version followed in 2013. The franchise has maximized reach in various countries and regions, cooperating with different manufacturers to reach local needs, tailoring marketing materials to individual territories, depending on the popularity in different countries, and has developed a close-knit network of carefully selected distributors that it works with to bolster the brand’s reach.
Working closely with its community and its modders, Farming Simulator grew from a smaller niche product to a market leader in the simulation genre, innovating with every game, and even runs its own self-organized annual convention, FarmCon, hosting fans from around the world.
Because of this home-grown confidence, built naturally through vertical integration and autonomy, GIANTS Software was able to expand Farming Simulator with newly-added features and platforms, growing ever more self-sufficient as it brought on more expertise that enabled it to extend the Farming Simulator universe with Farming Simulator Kids, Farming Simulator VR, and even its own merchandise. It learned to ideate, design, source, and manufacture unique accessories that respond to in-game activities, such as its fan-favorite collector’s edition bonus, the USB Ignition Lock.

Eventually, with so much passion and expertise across its multiple offices in Switzerland, Germany, the Czech Republic, and the USA, it was able to self-publish for the first time with Farming Simulator 22.
From pioneering developer to trusted publisher
That’s why games like Project Motor Racing, slated to release later this year, trust GIANTS Software as a publisher. With no reliance on licensed engines or third-party services – yet connected to a global network of distributors and partners, including licensors, influencers, content creators, and esports partners – GIANTS Software has everything and everyone you need to not only publish your game, but to publish it whilst staying true to your original vision, too.
It’s also why GIANTS Software continues to boast a highly loyal workforce, many of whom have been with the team for years and enjoy a healthy work-life balance without crunch. Teams and individuals are encouraged to collaborate, not compete, and enjoy efficient decision-making processes so their projects and their careers maintain momentum. Offering a calm, professional, casual, but fun working atmosphere, GIANTS Software prides itself on its low staff turnover. (If that sounds good to you – and why wouldn’t it? – GIANTS is hiring).

“Starting this year, GIANTS Software will also be recognized as the publisher of Project Motor Racing, which is an exciting new chapter in our company’s history,” says Ammann. “For us it’s a perfect fit – a high-quality game in the simulation genre and a mass market audience.”
If you’re passionate about your work and think you’d like to bring your expertise to GIANTS Software – or you have a fantastic game looking for a perfect partner to publish it – we’d love to hear from you.
